Born and raised in the North, “grew up” in the South. Originally from Holland, MI, I moved to Nashville, TN in 2002 just for the adventure of doing so and I have never looked back. I currently live in Smyrna, TN with my husband and rescue pup.
Meet Julie Brown
Artist & Owner
Administrative Assistant by day, Seamstress by night, but Artist all day long! Thanks to my parents I have been drawing, painting, cross-stitching and creating since I could hold a crayon; but I did not find my true medium until high school when I took two semesters of sewing and textiles. Since learning to sew I have done a little bit of everything from alterations, to home décor, to custom crafts.
However, everything changed the day my husband turned over the shirt he wore on our first date, because seamstresses always hoard fabric, I had an idea to turn his menswear shirt into something more feminine and bold....and the fabric bloom was born!
Next thing you know I was making bloom inspired creations out of all the fabric I had on hand. Having a background in retail, and a desire to create original designs, I started working on a collection of products. Over the years new ideas hatched and I began to expand the product line to include fur baby accessories, party hats and gentlemen's lapel pins. I am addicted to bold colors and print fabrics, while partnering those choices with classic clean shapes, I design something that toes the line between classy and whimsical. I really hope you enjoy my creations!
